LTC (Join to see) I just stumbled across their channel when I was looking for something else, it linked in a "Play Next" from the video I was searching for. I have enjoyed watching these talks. They are perfect for modern society short, entertaining, informative.

SGT (Join to see) indeed it is. The actual words we say are just a small part of communication. Words on a screen carry no nuance, no visual queues. Body language communicates more than anything else. Additionally, we see a person before we speak to them so the visual communication before the verbal in a face to face meeting. It is also the reason that text messaging is such a difficult method of communication. The saying that you never get a second chance to make a first impression starts with body language. A person arriving for a job interview who doesn't make eye contact, has their arms crossed, and looks at the floor could be the best candidate for a job, but may not get the job because they are not projecting confidence that they are indeed that best candidate.

PO3 Steven Sherrill - I was criticised on a post on Rally point because the respondent did not get my tone of sarcasm. Had he heard me say it, there would have been no question about what I meant. Body language is like that. I have seen politicians say one thing, but their body language was a sure tell.

SGT (Join to see) - I have started putting that in. Sarcasm ON. Sarcasm Off. Just to avoid that very type of misunderstanding. It is horrible when a sarcastic comment meant to garner laughs and intended in the spirit of humor sparks an angry back lash because the reader doesn't read the sarcasm in the comment.
