Boeing's Phantom Eye to be museum exhibit | IHS Jane's 360

The Phantom Eye was touted as a cost-effective alternative to geo-synchronous satellites, as well as a communications relay platform. While there is currently no US Department of Defense requirement for such a capability, it is interesting to note that the UK Ministry of Defence is progressing with its own 'pseudo satellite' programme based on the Airbus Defence and Space Zephyr UAV.

This UK effort indicates that there could be scope for a follow-on to the Phantom Eye to become an operational platform at some point in the future.
