I was at Mt. Home from 93-97, and stood up my workcenter's mobility capability. The composite wing idea worked. I knew who I needed to work with to get things done. We trained and worked with the different squadrons on a daily basis. I could walk into any squadron CC's office and get things done with minimal impact; The mission came first! We knew what the mission was at all levels within the wing. The problems were the overall cost, and airlift to get the wing where it needed to go. We proved during the wing's two site deployment ORI in 94 that the idea worked. The lowest rating within the entire wing's rating was an excellent. During my 24 year career I was never at a more efficient or effective wing. We were so far ahead of the rest of the Air Force when it came to deploying and operating downrange.
