The Constitution does not require that a President be born in America, but rather "No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President..." Thus, the debate boils down to the phrase "natural born citizen". Some argue that means a person born in the United States. However, there were and are many people born in the United States who are not deemed to be US citizens. Slaves born in the US until the passage of the 14th Amendment were not US citizens. Thus, it may be inferred that the Framers did not intend to extend citizenship to persons merely for being born in the US. Others, including myself, favor the interpretation that persons born to citizens of the US are natural born Americans. This is especially relevant to service members whose children may be born in foreign nations. The courts won't touch the issue. They've successfully dodged it on several occasions by deciding that the person bringing a case questioning the eligibility of a candidate, did not have legal standing to bring the case. In the end, it is one of those issues that Congress will have to decide (and we know how they love to tackle the tough issues, don't we?)

This is why I thought the whole Obama birther stuff was stupid. Since his mother was a US citizen he was a US citizen by birth even if he was born in another country. I think we should end birthright citizenship and go by parental citizenship anyway. It makes more sense and is what many countries use.

All valid points, I think in the future this issue should be addressed and clearly define.

I live in Canada and I use a Verizon phone yet the uploader is purposely blocking me. I was able to see about 10 seconds of the video. The Canadian people won't get offended! Funny that the uploader won't allow any comments either. LOL
