Max punishment is Life. I hope the judge gives him at least 20 years.
For a guy that did 5 years in captivity, I would assume he would be a little more humble. He is still being defiant and shows no apparent remorse for his actions.

From the article, the money portion:
The defense also was rebuffed in an effort to prove President Donald Trump had unfairly swayed the case with scathing criticism of Bergdahl, including suggestions of harsh punishment. The judge wrote in a February ruling that Trump's campaign-trail comments were "disturbing and disappointing" but did not constitute unlawful command influence by the soon-to-be commander in chief.
“We may as well go back to kangaroo courts and lynch mobs that got what they wanted,” Bergdahl said to a British filmmaker in 2016 when asked about trials, according to an interview obtained by ABC News. “The people who want to hang me, you’re never going to convince those people.”
This is about setting up some sort of ongoing challenge on the punishment. This is not really him admitting guilt and throwing himself on the mercy of the court. He is still trying to rationalize his behavior and to blame others for not being willing to accept his bovine excrement explanations of this actions. Another example of someone trying to play the victim card when they are the offender.

I just read an article where he claims the only reason why he is pleading is because he does not think he can get a fair trial. So in his mind he doesn't think he did anything wrong even now.
