I was about as nervous as any Eagles fan yesterday afternoon. Then the first drive happened, and all doubts were erased. Yes, I know it's just one game. Yes, I know it was against the Cleveland Browns - the team originally slotted for the No. 2 overall pick. But the kid showed he was worth it - and by "it," I mean the faith the team had in him to trade away established starter Sam Bradford. Instead of grooming Wentz for the future, the Eagles are saying "the future is now."

SSG (Join to see) not an Eagles fan, but I was so happy to see that kid go out and make the people who said that he went too high in the draft shut their holes. As a Vikings fan, I hope he writes us a thank you letter. No Bradford trade, no start. Seriously I am happy for the kid. He actually looked like he was having a blast. I don't think the shit eating grin I saw will disappear before next Sunday.

You're right about that! I'm still in disbelief... a 2017 1 *and* a 2018 4 for Bradford?! I'd have packed his bags myself for that return, and I was a Bradford fan! Lol

SSG (Join to see) - From a Vikings standpoint, we did not give up that much. We still are going to have nine (i think that was the number) picks including two second round picks. So if there is a first round player we feel we need, we have collateral to trade up in the draft. We get a veteran quarterback who played with Peterson, and under one of our coaches. Further by all accounts from Vikings news, Bradford has been studying the playbook like preparing for finals. So while I seriously cannot wait to get Teddy back in our backfield, I think we are going to be alright. If nothing else, our defense will hurt our opponents. The point is that this looks like it is going to work out for both teams. As I said I was happy to see the sheer joy on the face of Wentz.

PO3 Steven Sherrill - Considering we didn't have a 1 prior to the trade, that definitely works out for us. If we can shore up the blown coverage and missed tackles, we might become something of a dark horse come playoff time.

Kid definitely looked poised. Showed good arm strength and a grasp on reading defenses. But like you said it is the Browns and they are terrible. But its a good confidence builder for the rookie.

Another play that impressed me that won't show up on any highlight reels: Wentz mishandled the snap (whether it was on him or the center, I don't know). He located and recovered the football, scrambled to his right and got off a pass attempt to Jordan Matthews that Joe Haden had to break up at the last moment. That's a play Sam Bradford doesn't make, I'll say that for certain.

They did well and played a hell of a game, just not well enough. Anytime a game comes down to the last second, it's a good game.
