Why socialized medicine doesn't work.
For those who have never lived in countries with socialized medicine and believe the rantings of the misinformed I can tell you that it is not everything it's cracked up to be. The world was appalled a few months ago when a child in Great Britain was refused medical attention (under their socialized medical program). Here is another sad case, where I would wager that had this boy's family had health insurance he would have been seen and possibly saved.

Jut remember, the ones that spout that socialized medicine is awesome! are the same ones that believe Che is great, Castro is a loving leader, and Kapernick is fighting a good fight... facts, truth, reality means nothing to them...

Way to politicize a tragedy. I assume a Triage Nurse is similar to our ER Nurses so long wait times even in those types of care units are not unusual. But do go on, make this about socialized medicine knowing full well similar incidents occur in our own ERs. Oh and how do you know the family doesn't have healthcare? The article doesn't even discuss that and people without insurance aren't the only people that seek care there. But perhaps they had private insurance, does that mean they would've been seen by a private practice or family doctor same day? We know that isn't always true either. But thanks for taking a horrible story about a possible misdiagnosis in an ER that led to a child's death and made it all about Socialized vs Private healthcare.
