Why is it that the "Sport" of boxing never comes up in the concussion studies, that is a sport that actually tried to beat one into unconscientiousness over and over, by design?

Perhaps it may have to do with perception. Or boxer denial. One would expect head injuries, concussions etal, in boxers, however the boxer does not want this revealed(similiar to other professional sports figures) This is their and their coaches payday. So perhaps they chose money over health?

Kim Bolen RN CCM ACM - How is that different from any professional sport? I am solidly for anything that can be done to prevent concussion injuries and treatment. I have two young grandsons that participate in nearly all sports and am concerned about anything happening to them. But I still don't see why the focus is on football.

Sir, I do not believe it is different in professional sports, that is a job they have chosen. I believe that perhaps the focus is on football in this Article. I am merely saying that Prevention, preparedness and awareness are the Keys to any sport.
It also appears that children are more likely than not to participate in football vs Boxing. Any injury to the brain must be taken seriously, it is so immature in the tender years. But can have life long learning disabilities. Hope that answers ?

Not really. Sports has been a means of many that have nothing, except physical skills that result in their becoming millionaires and celebrities. They learn teamwork, sportsmanship and appreciate the talents of their opponents. We stress inequality, yet want to destroy the few things that teach many attributes that bring us together, like sports and the military. Both, along with the Law Enforcement officials are under attack from the bleeding heart liberals that think love is the answer. As I said, we are in total agreement that this should be studied on a larger scale basis, and resolutions, if possible to prevent these types of injuries. Football injuries are always going to happen, regardless of what action we take, unless the fans are into flag football, which would lead to its destruction.

Haha tell me something we didn't know. I love how they come up with this stuff and yet to very little to try and curb the affects of concussions.

To avoid a concussion do not hit your head. The brain is a magnificent organ, if used correctly.
