Everytime I see or hear Alexandria O-Cortez mouthing off about the joys of socialism and so many swooning at the thought of fundamentally transforming America to match her vision, I die a little. Socialism is the domain of bureaucrats. Bureaucrats are needed to administer all those benefits and services that socialism promises. As someone who has worked in a bureaucracy, I know first hand how poorly socialism can serve those unfortunate enough to live under its pall. As a student of history, I have seen the body count associated with socialism, the hundreds of thousands of citizens murdered by their own government. Don't forget to include the victims of Communism and Naziism, the stepchildren of socialism, in the body count...

I think a lot of these folks have good intentions but are woefully ignorant of the dogma being pushed.

CPT Jack Durish What these people are hearing is they don't have to pay for basic services they feel the federal government has to provide. These people also resonate with this message because they feel people on the right have forgotten about them and that people on the left are truly looking out for their interests. The vote emotionally and based on how a candidate's stance affects them only. What these people do not realize is it's not the federal government's job to ensure you have the basic needs to survive. It's not their job to hold your hand throughout life so that you make good decisions. Democrats today are not the Democrats of yesteryear and these people are being fed a line of crap by those trying to obtain power. It's like leading a moth to a bright light.
