Reading "A HANDFUL of HARD MEN" about the Rhodesian SAS in the Bush Wars for Rhodesia. Some mean motor scooters, 4-man teams 200k into enemy territory wreaking all sorts of havoc.

And yet, when a "terrorist" does the same thing (dresses as a non-combatant for infiltration purposes), we call it deplorable, horrible, etc etc etc. The hypocrisy is overwhelming.

LTC Bink Romanick - But we can't say it's bad when they do it and good when we do. Next thing you know, we'll be holding accused (not convicted) "terrorists" in cells on some remote island, subjecting them to degradation, unnecessary medical procedures, humiliation and torture and never letting them out... what will we have become then?

CPT T F Functionally, you're right, there is no difference. My point was regarding he hypocrisy of denouncing these types of tactics by enemy - not just towards civilians, but in their efforts to infiltrate US bases in Iraq and Afghanistan in this same fashion - while applauding the same tactics by friendly forces. If we think it's ok on our side, we can't complain when the enemy does the same thing.
