Your lib friend is an idiot. Unless the dogs are trained as guard dogs, there's no knowing for sure how the dogs will respond to the situation.

I love this: "The Santa Clarita Sheriff's Department called the home invasion in the remote area a mystery, and said had she not been armed, the outcome could have been much worse for her." It used to be that law enforcement officials would say after something like this: "Well, things turned out ok in this instance, but people run a real risk trying to defend themselves and so we recommend they call the police and let the professionals handle things." Or something to that effect. But the tide is shifting, and a lot of law enforcement officials are encouraging people to be more proactive in their own defense. It's refreshing.

SSgt Christopher Brose - LOL you are so correct. It is someone that I have to talk to at times, though if I never see them again it would not break my heart. But figured I'd receive a ton of crap for bad language if I called the person what I would like to name em as. Your also correct that it is refreshing that law enforcement officials are encouraging people now. I do enjoy that when I see it.
