Since sea level is not uniform and some bodies of water are below sea level, it isn't surprising that aircraft can fly below sea level SSgt (Join to see). IAF pilots are very familiar with Bar Yehuda airfield.
It may have been novel for the C-130 to fly to Bar Yehuda which is astride the Dead Sea which is the lowest place on Earth and its airfield, Bar Yehuda, lies at 1,210 feet below sea level.
Thanks for alerting us SMSgt Minister Gerald A. "Doc" Thomas

That is why I never liked computers flying aircraft or driving cars. Put a human behind the darn controls for crying out loud!

Interesting, but there seems to be a flaw here somewhere. It is interesting that Israel set up a number of GPS receivers in the early 90s and had no issues with reception or calibration in this area. Not sure what type of systems they were using at the time.
So would this only apply to newer systems? And why did someone screw up the calibration limits in the software?

SSG Robert Webster I wonder if too much of their time was spent on trainings not directly related to their job? I'm not saying, I'm just saying...

SSgt (Join to see) - In the Army, I believe that they call some of those classes SHARP, don't know what it is called in the Air Force.
