This was a time in the CAARNG when Discharge packets were routinely kicked back for AWOLs (unsatisfactory participation) and drugs because CDRs down the line were pressured to "keep good Soldiers" in. The lunacy reached my F*** This red line when one AWOL packet was returned because we, the unit, failed to show that we did all we could to ensure the Soldier knew the drill dates. The newsletters, emails and the 2823's by the AWOL Abatement Team NCOIC stating he handed the AWOL Soldier the newsletter with the drill dates apparently were insufficient.
