California has the nation’s strictest gun laws. Here are the other strictest and loosest states.

The laws are aimed at keeping certain types of weapons out of the hands of criminals and others as the state classifies them. However the laws have not done anything to deter criminals or stopped them from getting guns. Criminals don't care that's why they are criminals they do not care about the laws especially gun laws.
