All you need to know about this issue is that the bill was introduced by a democrat. Why don't they spend their time trying to find out why so many of the cops are leaving the force? Gee, could it be because they are treated worse by their administration than they are by the savages they encounter every day on the street?

It should be noted that we allow legal non-US citizens to join the military.

And have for years. Filipinos gaining citizenship as Navy stewards among others. Believe that to be arguably different due to job scope, though.

CWO4 Terrence Clark - I had a Chinese born (raised through most of grade school) Airman working for me back in the mid 2000s. Interestingly enough, one of my other Airmen (who was under disciplinary action at the time) tried to accuse me of being racist against the Chinese Airman (still not a citizen yet) for insisting we do not expedite his security clearance and provide him with an interim clearance through a simple national background check. First, we had no immediate need for him to have the clearance. Second, while it sucks that a nation of origin may motivate my insistence on the security clearance process, I stand by my due diligence. I've worked in cyber operations for far too long and China was the threat I personally had to deal with the most. The Airman proved to be a good Airman who eventually earned his citizenship and far exceeded the accomplishments of the other Airman (who had multiple disciplinary issues and was desperate to take the focus off of her).
