California’s poverty rate remains nation’s highest

I'd suggest that you are looking at this the wrong way. Look at the situation the way a hemp filled Liberal world look at it. California has a high unemployment rate but take a deep dive at the affected pool of citizens. Are they rioting in the streets by the thousands or are they somehow getting food, clothing and shelter. Some might have cars, cell phones, apartments, and a family. To the Left this is utopia. California has 20% of the population that will vote at any time for them.... to continue with their "benefits" of course. Notice how welfare payments never are reduced but DoD budget is always up for debate. Even though there is a Constitutional provision for a military and that pesky statement about providing for the common defense. California is a live lab for testing the Socialist waters on the Americans and it appears to me that for some- they prefer the light chains about their necks.

definitely a huge disparity between the haves and the have-nots in California. I guess the haves are not giving their fair share to the under privileged.

Thank you California for sacrificing yourself as a warning to the rest of the nation. Now, let's hope that the rest of the nation takes heed and avoids the mistakes of allowing good intentions to get in the way of common sense.
