It's not going to stop them serious but it will stop people from suing the soda companies because they're too stupid to limit their kids intake.

I'm very surprised greedy California didn't try the sugar tax. It's the done in other jurisdictions but those are the same lawmakers that drink too much alcohol and eat Superstar with cheese hamburgers and probably smoke pot while they're in their Congressional chamber.
