SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL As scary as it is, I never had a major issue with chow hall food. MRE's and hot chow in the field; that was horrible. I'd have an issue with the on base access to fast food, but in most cases activity levels are high enough that you can work it off.

Don't understand the problem, unless on an extended patrol, Steak, Lobster, and cordon bleu Were on the menu. Didn't you folks get those rations too?

Why would anybody want to refine military chow SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL ha ha :-)
Some of my best and worst meals were prepared by military cooks.
I remember pulling KP in the mid-197o's and supervising a dining facility when I was an infantry company commander from 1985 to 1986 at Fort Benning, GA.
