Can we help each other a little, maybe a lot?
If you're a storyteller like me, you know how hard it is to sell your stories. I'm in the process of experimenting with marketing strategies and tactics and will be sharing the results as I go. However, there is one simple thing we can do to help each other.
If you're a storyteller like me, you have a website (or, you better get one). And, you're going to use advertising and social media to drive traffic to it. I've already had some success with that and will share my secrets in other postings.
If you have a website, we can help each other with backlinks. Backlinks are like votes for Miss Congeniality in the Miss America Competition. They won’t win the crown for your website, but they will boost search rankings, drive referral traffic, increase credibility, speed indexing, and signal authority to search engines—helping your website get found, trusted, and visited more often.
Here's my proposal: You scratch my back, and I'll scratch yours. If you leave a comment on my website, be sure to include the link to your website. I have to weblogs, one with short stories and the other a collection of miscellaneous topics. When I see them, I'll comment on yours and leave my weblink.
BTW, I also have webpages devoted to promoting my books. One page connects them all and it too is a weblog where you can comment on my books (if you've read them) or on my webpages promoting sales if you haven't. Again, whenever you comment anywhere on my website including a link to yours, I'll return the favor. That's a promise.
