I followed his lead... the good Colonel began with "Of course Foxnews didn't..." rather than just stating the were alternative reports and posting them. Snark appeared to be the order of the day. BTW, don't know the man but he's quick with the block button. :-)

Of course, the Fox News story leaves off a lot of details showing what an asshole the landlord is.

Sgt Wayne Wood I assume there to be some bad blood between you and LTC (Join to see), because that personal attack seemed fairly unwarranted.

I read your link. He complied with the law. He was not required to give anymore warning and he was not required to remove his shoes by law. The rest of the stuff is a case of who is telling the truth. I would guess that the truth is somehwere in between. This kind of crap is the main reason why I will never rent any houses. Even when we were trying to sell our homes after moving we would rather leave them empty and pay 2 mortgages than worry about this kind of stuff. I understand the landlord's view on wanting to rent out the place but I also understand that they would want extra time to either leave or make sure they were dressed. Howeve, he was not required to give any extra notice. Both families are rude. Neither should receive anything.

MSgt (Join to see) - I've been both a renter and a landlord, and while he may have complied with the law, IMO he was still being a jerk. Just giving 24 hours notice and refusing to give any other notice is not the normal procedure. The landlord had it explained to him that the wife needed time to get dressed properly before strangers came in the house. It is no inconvenience at all for the landlord to give them a call when he is on the way or an hour out. But he refused to do that and instead just showed up unannounced, knowing full well the problems that caused his tenants. He clearly was doing it on purpose. He was being a jerk.

Oh he is a jerk I agree but most likely we are not hearing the full story either. Would they stall? Did they trash the place? Calling the cops on him when he clamed he was shovling snow with his friend. At that point he has a witness, the friend... both sides seem wrong in this and were more interested un confrontation than in getting along. If you started videoing me without my permission on property I owned I'd get pissed too.
