Richard, agree with you a good shoulder rig is at the top of most peoples list. I carried concealed for work for many years, I carried a S&W hammerless but I also would time to time have a Sig 226 tucked in my waist band ect...

By failing to mention the shoulder holster, the author gives away his lack of experience in the area of weapons concealment. I spent the majority of my 31 year LE career working plainclothes or undercover assignments. I used shoulder holsters on many occasions and it’s still my #1 choice for work concealment. For professionals, the shoulder holster is often the best way of carrying your rig. Plus you can readily carry other equipment such as extra magazines and handcuffs. It’s also much easier on the back than putting all that weight in your waist.
He does have one good point though, carry the gun that you like to shoot and can shoot well. If you chose a gun because of size and weight only, then you are already behind the curve when the shooting starts. With the exception of back up guns, size and weight should be a secondary consideration when choosing what to carry.
