Unarmored, wooden boats full of fuel? PO1 Tony Holland how did they have room for the massive stones required to volunteer for this service? Thanks for sharing this. I thought, ignorantly so, that the U.S. was the only one who used small craft on a large scale, and then only in the pacific where they were well suited to navigating the island chains.

Big stones indeed ( also a unit of weight in the UK ). These were brave men in the same vein as the SAS and SBS which were founded in the early 40's --- twenty years earlier than our SEAL Teams.
