China bans veils and beards in the western province of Xinjiang

China has had a problem with Uighur Muslims for decades now. They have been fighting to keep the Uighurs from effectively overrunning western China. I am just surprised that it took China this long to think of this.

China has no compunction about repressing the Uighurs. I've always wondered why they don't just go in and wipe them all out. It's not like anyone outside China is going to really do anything (except lodge very strongly worded protests at the UN) to China these days.

One thing that China does that I agree with is very public executions of convicted criminals. They put the criminal on his knees and then put a single bullet through the back of the criminal's head. All on national TV (I figure as a deterrent). No lengthy stays on Death Row for decades, costing the people money. One bullet. I've heard that the government even sends the bill for the cost of the bullet to the criminal's next of kin. I don't know if that is entirely true, but it sounds reasonable.

China also poses limits on family size and what you can read on the internet. Why are there no complaints about China or from anyone that lives there? It's a Communist country for starters. We've been criticizing China's policies for decades. This policy towards Muslims has nothing to do with terrorism.
