I understand your point, however, this has been duemto happen for a very very long time now. China was quite literally vivisected by Europe especially the UK, as well as sevl other European powers during ww2, most especially Japan, incl us presence there on with the US gunboats during the 1920s, and, even though it was done with benevolent intentions, Chinese society has never forgotten or forgiven it culturally, I think. That was what at least in my view led to Mao, Chou en lai, and, most dangerously, Deng xiao Peng. Deng was the one, as I've said on here before, who created a pseudo capitalist overlay on Chinese communism to pacify the populace. When Hong Kong was given back by the UK, the Chinese president, and I knew it'd happen, looked like a horse finally throwing it's ride off its back. The whole South China Sea thing is due to China being in its drive to maturity stage, along the lines of the Stages of Economic growth by Walter w rostow, the single best book on macroeconomic history I ever read. I mean, Chiang was corrupt, that's why he lost and was driven out to Taiwan, which the commies also want back, and which Taiwan wants obv zero part of, so I'm by no means surprised by the whole commie artificial island ploy. It's the same thing with the Philippines, and japan, Japan especially has never been forgiven by China for the rape of Nanking, and the whole Manchukuo thing using pu yi as puppet emperor. I'm not denying the logic of your oil gas argument, however. The macroeconomic process is, to my mind, along with resentment lingering and festering for decades, for all the colonial abuses it went through, I'm not saying their view is right, and that it's not misguided, it is, certainly, however, it's now an omnipresent reality, that now will need to be very seriously dealt with, quite probably for decades, unfortunately. I'm quite certain such lingering resentment was most likely not anticipated when the colonial vivisection especially by Japan was going on, I get that, obv, however, unfortunately, it was long overdue, and, further, what goes around, as the saying goes, also, unfortunately, comes around, eventually. Will it be allowed without challenge? Of course not. Will it get volatile? Quite probably. Is it good? Of course not. Will that change the overall process of it. Unfortunately, I think not, I hope that was of interest, I realize I might well be disagreed with, I'd be most eager for any thoughts, many thanks.
