China's and Russia's stealth fighters don't stand a chance against the F-35 and F-22

No doubt that they could close the gap, but the question is, will they? China's 5th Gen fighter suffers from exceptionally poor engine design which leaves an otherwise superior (to the F-22) fighter vastly underpowered and incapable of competing. Your avionics and attack packages may be top notch, but if your engines don't provide enough kick, you're a sitting duck. The Russian Su-37 has a shit stealth profile and is honestly more like Gen 4.5. The T-50 has some glaring problems as well, and not just in its stealth design. Honestly, all the reports I've seen on them, we've got decades before they come close to something that matches the F-22. And by then, we'll probably have 6th Gen in the works.

SSgt Ryan Sylvester - bwa-HAHAHAHAA!!! Oh yeah, there was a MSgt in particular that I took a little joy in exerting the authority of my position. He was being forced out due to not being able to make SMSgt, and he took it out on everyone.

SSgt (Join to see) - It's the little bit of awesomeness when you have positional authority and figure out the boundaries of the authority. Best of all when you figure out how and when to give so you can push when you need to. Or want to. Especially when you want to, heh.

SSgt Ryan Sylvester - of course, the other side of that coin, there were times when I shivered authorizing issuance of weapons to some folks. I knew how they acted, but they hadn't done anything that could allow me to withdraw their weapons authority.

SSgt (Join to see) - That's part of doing the job, unfortunately. When you do it right, you follow instruction to the letter. Sometimes that means you have to do something that makes your skin crawl, but you aren't the one that makes that determination. I had to hem up one of the guys in my squadron because he was screwing around while pulling duty over at Correctional Custody, and was surfing a dating website (date.com... yeah, this was way back in the day). It wasn't anything hugely bad, but the Shirt wasn't happy about it. I wasn't happy about having to report the results of my investigation, but I had no choice... it was my job.

Russia produced some very fine aircraft during the Cold War. Back when choices were simple, they made seemingly better choices: Maneuverability vs Armor springs to mind. However, we've left those primitive days behind and we have a technological advantage because our people, especially our children, had better access to technology, to play and develop skills, while the communists were limiting access.

If we try to send the 5Gen fighters into a near-Peet's A2AD without a massive prior SEAD campaign, our boys will be wiped out
