I did not realize how short Putin was until they took a photo side by side, makes me wonder if Putin has Napoleon syndrome.

The reason Nixon was able to ratchet up paranoia in both Russia and China about each other was both Countries had and have governments that need to be seen as dominating the others around them. In Communism and Socialism as well, appearances can be and sometimes are more important than any agreement not showing the State in utter positivity and dominant. Two types of a style of government will have difficulty when one is not seen as the more powerful. Propaganda is everything.
