Next step, develop a way to harvest the produce and ship it to US for consumption.

I am afraid with the tariffs we would need to send ninjas to the moon and hijack thier shipments from the production floor. that's the only logical solution.

This could be something good, or it could be a way to get our R&D to spend money in a wasteful way.

well you would have to address the following:
1.) CO2 is required for photosynthesis and the moon has no atmosphere
2.) temperature ranges for plants are with set levels, the conditions of the moon far exceed the acceptable ranges for temperature zones for any plant.
3.) Mineral concentration and PH of the soil on the moon are completelely unacceptable and even toxic to any plant.
4.) Radiation levels are not blocked by a magnetosphere or ionosphere... which is why there is no atmosphere... thus the sun would unleash uncontrolled radiation on the moon destroying any living thing not protected by a suit.
5.) Water is required for most living things, and there has been no water found on the moon.

and it is not our R&D that is doing this, it is China... Which means they are ahead of us or perpetuating a hoax

Thank goodness! I was concerned about Idaho keeping up with the demand for spuds.
