The Chinese have invested quite a bit of money in Afghanistan at this point to stabilize it unlike the Russians (who should be investing more if you ask me). The Chinese own and have developed a large Copper Mine, are funding the building of railways through the country and are funding building of roads, all of that good and better their money than ours.
