Many years back I was taught someone with a right sleeve patch was a combat vet and by that definition I am one. I know this will probably upset many, but to me the only real combat vets are those that actually came in close contact with the enemy and exchanging fire. The operator that ripped him up was pretty on spot in my humble opinion. You look at the house bill banning ARs and the weapons not on the list are just as lethal as those 'scary rifles' the media advertises to would be school shooters. Thank God the media does not know about 'the rifle that won WWII' as it is one of my favorites. One of the worst problems we have in stopping these carnages is the people pushing the most change are the least educated on the topics. They want mental health exceptions to the 2A but don't realize all the benign mental health diagnosis that would not hurt a flee but would lose rights. Probably coincidental, but we have not be overly successful on the battlefield since we moved from .30 cal to a fast moving BB (.223) yet so many are so scared of it.

MAJ Byron Oyler, I assume you are refering to the "greatest battle implement ever devised". I would rather face a .223 than a .30-06 if that is the direction your were headed. Mast is a disappoint to the entire EOD community.

Maybe he got too close to Tammy Duckworth in the Congressional lunch room.

The older I get, the less I'm willing to believe what someone says based solely on their "experience".

There is a lot to respond too here. First off is the fact that that show has less than an 800k viewership. So he is not on there to get his message out. So what's his intent? Politicians don't make a move without understanding the political impact be it positive or negative. So the hero war veteran goes on a liberal show to repeat their talking points. (It's also good PR to win over any "moderate" voters). The two adulterous hosts blush in glee. But look at the tactic. They talk about the evil object but never the perp. Then they go after the Center of Gravity for corporations: Investors. This piece which looks like a war hero turned common sense gun control advocate is simply a call on fellow travelers, fascists, socialist, etc to go after those that invest in these evil companies. Just like the boycott on NRA, we will see an attack on the financial links to the firearms industry. And also notice it's not just AR-15. Its magazines as well. Or high capability magazines. I noticed in the media segment that the politician stated he went to war with 20 round magazines. That was the hint that he is ready to "compromise" the 2A.

Agree, simply trying to appeal to voters. His staff probably found a post Parkland survey indicating a majority of Florida voters supported the Black Rifle Ban. Sad. On the plus side, he does have a decent voting record. Too bad he appears willing to compromise his military service to garner votes.
