Disagree on outcome. IF it did happen the 46 EV's in WI, MI, and PA change the math totally. It's not going to happen but if it did it would change outcome. That's not why they are doing it though. Agree on grandstanding. It's masked with "maintain integrity of the vote" but is really about (a) bringing more attention and funding to Stein and Greens (b) disrupting the process because "they can" (c) pissing reps off and it appears to be working so far. Small price to pay for freedom and let them have at it.

I think the proponents are using the wiki/Russian hacking concerns and adding to exit poll anomalies and finally a human error in early tabulating for one county in WI (Outagamie)and arriving at a larger issue of "election integrity". Despite the questionable machines not being online they can still be tampered with, but it is a stretch to assume anyone did and certainly that Trump did. I recall a documentary after 2000 with some Finnish experts showing an example. The software had been tampered with so that a vote for x actually recorded as being for y and they demonstrated it on the show. I don't think anything meaningful will come of it and certainly no change to the outcome. I firmly believe that Stein/Greens are using it to raise awareness, cash, and to also disrupt the process because that's what protesters do. Clinton has caught heat for signing on but without knowing the real story that could be misleading. It might range from them using Stein as a proxy to just wanting to keep an eye on it. I'd think Trump would want to be represented also but that's his choice. I think his handlers need to get a handle on his twitter account if he ever expects to be taken seriously. The more he posts, the less people will care what he has to say and the POTUS aura depends on his words being as if from the burning bush. I doubt if any recount will postpone any Inauguration because ample remedies exist with Constitution and Federal Courts. In time it will pass and hopefully we can get to work on getting USA back on track.
