This was the Soviets version of Viet Nam... and It for the Brits 100 years earlier and Ours now...
without full all Out efforts and unbridled determination and the support of the Locals there will never bee a foreign style government in the nation...
The current situation was Prompted By the lack of support by the Congress Critters under GHW Bush and followed By withdrawal of all support By Bill Clinton in 1993 and His Progressive Democratic Congress ...

Why should there be? Why would the locals support this? Why would locals fight and die for a system of governance that is foreign to them and that takes power away from them.

In some ways, the Afghan is more free than the American. They are certainly more free than the socialists of Europe.

Why would a people who are independent and self sufficient fight and die to have a foreign government imposed upon them. This is the primary reason that the Afghan National Defense Security Forces never really turned into a real Army. I know. I've worked with them for a decade.

the Afghan Army and Police was always a ruse used against idealist American General Officers who were too stupid to realize that Afghans did not want to fight and die for US foreign policy objectives. They would take our money, though.

We thought we could do better- never learn from history. Not saying we should have/be there- but we need a decisive plan to get in and leave. Great share SGT John " Mac " McConnell
