I did 3 counter drug deployments. It is very disheartening to know that when you have a couple of tons of 90%+ pure cocaine on your fantail, that it is only 1/10th of 1% of what the US uses in a month....

The War on Drugs which started around the time of LBJs Great Society programs being initiated in the 1960s has met some successes SSgt Harvey "Skip" Porter.
The biggest issue is the demand for drugs in this nation.
Dugs kill many each year and yet people are drawn like moths to a flame to get involved with heroin, cocaine, opioids, ups and downs, etc..
Until demand is quashed it will be a daily battle throughout this nation. We have agricultural battles in southeast and southwest Asia, Africa and South and Central America trying to motivate people to change from drug cash crops to something less profitable fort them.

LTC Stephen F. You are absolutely right the demand for drugs is what keeps the business going. We in this country have a big appetite for drugs unfortunately.
