Coast Guard Sued by Families of the 34 Victims in Conception Dive Boat Fire

I’ve dove off this boat a number of times with my students from 1998-2006.

This was probably one of the most horrible tragedies I’ve ever read about. Reading the recount and knowing what the divers and crew must have experienced during this horrific incident makes me sick and terrified for them. God take care of them and their families now.

I hate lawsuits but understanding what those families must be going though and to help prevent future tragedies, I would do the same thing. Go after the deep pockets. I know the Coast Guard already gave the operator warnings but could more have been done? I guess that's what the lawsuit will decide. Hopefully this will be the last tragedy of its kind.
