The is the second time I've heard this today, so, it might be a real thing. Now, it hasn't been THAT long since I was in tactical/maneuver units, so this Command Post plan seems like it would take a massive rethink on how we operate in the field.
Right now, it takes 30 minutes just to get the DRASH tents off the trucks and into position where they go on the ground (on a good day in ideal conditions). Any thoughts on how we might be able to make this 30-minute CP a reality?

Hahaha! Yeah there was a time that was possible but that was before all the new technology that drives the C4ISR command environment we live in today. Mobile CPs are the future; we're way beyond static CPs.

You would think this general had better ways to spend her time than thinking how fast a CP can be set up. Maybe if she started going to the field again she might see how things have changed since the days of tents and comm wire, sound powered phones, flip charts and acetate overlays.

The things people tell Generals.
If by setup, they mean that it looks mostly setup from the outside... ok, I can buy that. If by torn down they mean, they could move within 30 minutes if they didn't bother to retrieve grounding rods, constantina wire, camo, sleep tents, etc... ok, I can buy that as well.
