Thanks for letting us know SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL. It is not all surprising that minority member Rep. Mark Takano, D-Calif is decrying the election of Donald Trump to President of the USASFC . He displays myopia when he claims to be focusing on improving life for veterans 'Too often we fail to provide veterans the care and support they deserve. Congress must work with the president to meet the difficult challenges facing the men and women who served."
At the top he disagreed with Donald Trump's approach to taxes, immigration, health care, foreign policy. Takano is a typical liberal who seem to think you can separate issues. Taxes and foreign policy will impact revenue available and healthcare approach will significantly impact care for veterans.
Takano, like all big-government proponents, doesn't like for-profit schools [at primary through high school or college and university or trade school]. President-elect Donald Trump will move money from Department of Education to provide for block grants to the states to provide vouchers to help inner city families choose where to have their kids educated. Choice in education should be available to all and not just to the privileged.
1. I hope the individual mandate will be eliminated so the IRS will no longer be responsible for punishing those who don't have health insurance.
2. I hope that the barriers to insurance which limit it to a state will be removed so that consumers including veterans will be able to choose where to acquire health and dental insurance. Real competition tends to drive prices down.

One wonders where this author stood on President Obama's VA Agenda? I know they've been on a hiring freeze, meaning, even as MORE Veterans come into the system, there are fewer Doctors, Nurses and other caregivers to provide a quality service. I would also add that (unless there have been some radical changes,) the Veteran's Choice program was a joke, at least from my perspective. I was approved by my VA Doctor for Chiropractic care, but after a half dozen tries, I was unable to get the process pushed through Veteran's Choice.. at EVERY juncture, asked, and was given a time frame at which I should get a call, or get something in the mail. NO ONE EVER called me back, and nothing ever came in the mail. I guess it did work... I didn't get my Chiropractic care. But Congress, AND President Obama took credit for what they lauded as a "Great Program".
I don't know if privatization is the answer, but the author seems to want Trump to deliver, where President Obama failed... That's OK, except he's calling for Trump to do so by NOT changing anything. How does that work? Regards
