As the youngest branch, we have an issue with identity. We are not quite as storied as those of us who are military history nuts would like ourselves to be. Our dress uniforms aren't as flashy as our fellow branches are. But, dammit! We are the best in the world and we'll go to hell and back to prove it!

I have never seriously disparaged the US Air Force and never intend to. The USAF is the greatest in the world bar none and has risen to the occasion many times in the past and present, and will continue to do so into the future. We can all rest more easily knowing the USAF is always in the skies above US. It is commonly referred to as the Sound of Freedom. Maj Kim Patterson

We are young and just as important as the other services. We love to hate each other, but only those of us in uniform are allowed to tease our sister services. "You only tease the ones you love' , said my father.
