Computer confusion: More IT definitions that sound funny when taken literally

I have a friend that puts a fog machine in the server room so when the door opens the fog spills out and he can welcome people to the cloud.

When I taught computer technology (programming and system administration) I always opened beginning level classes with a story about a frog. I asked the students what they envisioned when I mentioned the word "frog". I then explained some twenty-seven different definitions of the word, many of which are familiar and many which are not to most people. The point was to demonstrate that words have different meanings in different contexts, and computer technology is a context in which ordinary sounding words mean vastly different things in that context. Thus, I warned them to stop me if I used a word that sounded weird in the context I was using it.
