That is not very surprising news SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL. It is of note that the amendment passed the House in May, 295-129, and the Senate, 89-8 and then it was removed in the conference committee discussions between House and Senate.
I expect liability and the fact that marijuana is still illegal by federal statute probably weighed heavily on the conference committee. It made no sense to try this end run around Federal law.

Until classification is changed on marijuana from a schedule 1 drug it's unlikely any provision, even for medical use, will ever pass on a federal level. Personally I believe the drug schedule is the best way to address using marijuana for medical purposes.

Who was behind removing the provisions and what did he give up or get in return. What was the deal and who dealt the cards? That is what I would like to know.
