Interesting article comparing military cuts with sports. One thing I would say, though, is the spending that is taking place isn't all the way it should be. With Congress funding things the military chiefs don't want (M1-A1, more destroyers, etc). Spending money where it isn't needed. That takes a toll on readiness.
