It's honestly a shame. We take so many steps forward in order to "promote equality", but then we take a few leaps back. I am proud of our All Volunteer Fighting Force that we currently have the luxury of affording. But I also understand the need to maintain a registry of Selective Service aka The Draft. In the event the World's Superpowers are at each other's throats again, there may come a time when we can't raise the numbers fast enough to combat an enemy threat.

This is the Mission per the Selective Service website:

“…To furnish manpower to the Defense Department during a national emergency, to manage alternative service for men classified as conscientious objectors, and to register, with only a few exceptions, all male U.S. citizens and male immigrants residing in the United States who are ages 18 through 25...”

All males... 18-25... whether or not they are a pacifist...

It's not asking if they are physically fit. It's not asking if they are mentally fit.

It's asking for all males in the prime of life to help contribute something in our Country's time of need. If males can do it, then why not females.

I'm honestly sick of gender equality argument and I'm sick of being told my genitals are holding back 50% of this Country.

I'm not opposed to it, they want equality, give it to them, but then again I'm a chauvinist pig who still believes in "women and children first," opening doors for women, picking up the check, etc. Make it optional, give them the choice that real men should never refuse.

Let them register if they want.
