His wife’s car was doused with accelerant and set ablaze just feet from where they slept, and if not for a passing neighbor alerting them to the growing fire, the damage could have been far worse or fatal.
Police and fire authorities are now investigating the blaze, and are viewing it as a deliberate act.
“The incident is being treated as wilful and enquiries are ongoing,” a Police Scotland spokeswoman said.

All such incidents should be treated as "terrorism" events. They should also be published to a central website tracking these across the country. What often happens is that these are often disjointed and not connected to identify patterns.
Of course the FBI and others do pattern analysis and still do when is comes to: hate groups and organized crime. When the crazies see to kill or do harm to families and are cowards, lacing the capacity to achieve dialogue about differences and replace them with violence is something that should be met with a level of harness that lets these vile people know that it is them who will held accountable.
I would like to be able to click on a simple map that can be seen from say the voting precinct level up to the state level to see these patterns. Such a picture would tell a very interesting story in a very simple format. Hummmmmm!
