An individual who inspired me from a very young age. Grew up watching any tv show he was on and became one of the youngest SCUBA certified divers in Connecticut because of him. Went off to other careers, but ended up being part of diving again in my civilian career.

Very similar fascination with Jacques Cousteau's underwater narrations and adventures aboard the Calypso. France has a number of great pioneers but Cousteau introduced the world to places most have never nor will ever see first hand.

I got to meet his son at the aquarium where I worked, but not much more than a handshake and a few brief words.
