I saw that headline. How does the annual flu stack up?

The flu kills between 25K- 60k annually but hey those don't count to the chicken littles or those using such comparisons to attack the current administration in the white house. @lt col charlie brown

Those don't count, hospitals do not get more money for flu cases as they do COVID-19.

That stat would be skewed, as few protective measures are taken for flu, other than a shot that is possibly useless by the time it is produced. So it's hard to say.

There are some who will make a comparison to the flu, and claim that COVID isn't really that bad.

I'll point out that the flu season starts in late September - early October, and ends in late April or May. Thus far this year CDC is estimating 24K-62K deaths from flu & pneumonia. The first COVID death was in February, and is already at 55K in less than half of the flu season.
