I was pissed at the Filipino government's initiative to force the closure of our bases in the Philippines. They claimed it was the people's will. In all actuality the vast majority of the Filipinos liked our presence. The elite called it a milestone in their sovereignty. The fact is, we lost around 600,000 military members due to KIA or WIA in the liberation from the tyrannical Japanese empire. Where was their sovereignty in WWII?
