Indeed. I say let folks who support that research donate their genes if all their living relatives also agree.

Who decides whose human genes to use? Do they get permission from that person and all that person's living relatives (like all the living relatives of ancestral lines of grreatx4grandparents, for example and further back, who have dna in common)? I have read that aborted human fetuses are used for that purpose - it that is the case, the same questions apply.
I guess my main question to anyone would be "Do you want to be the person whose genes are combined with that of any other species (or your own species!), without your permission?" I think the answers to such questions is information which needs to be made public a long time before any company actually carries out the research.
