Critical Points: Choosing Delta over United and American

Having been a extensive traveler (in the air almost weekly) for my civilian jobs, I flew most airlines at one point, including TWA, Eastern, National, the old Piedmont, Pan American and Allegheny Airlines. Mostly American, United, and Delta. Things have changed over the years (not for the better). Delta is my preferred for international flights, but it’s hard to beat Southwest for the no penalty trip cancellation (get money on credit towards another flight) and no bag fees, although I get free bags on Delta due to my previous frequent flyer status. American used to be very good, but gave up on them when they merged with US Air.

My company books us on Delta which I hate.
