why were the Kids there to begin with and why did the kids assault the cop and where is the rest on the Investigation ... or is this another case being tried in the media because of spoiled Children cant handle some one tell them No and the parents Overreacting...

My question to those sympathetic to the miscreants supporters is given to all information provided, how would you have handled it. Read and understand all events leading up to the warning shot.

I would have to say that it depends upon the department policy on firearm discharges. Some departments allow a "warning shot ". Many others don't allow it. You can only discharge your weapon to protect the life of someone OR yourself. If you discharge your weapon because you had reason to believe that your life was in danger, then you have to prove it to the shooting review board and/ or the court. I am glad that I am retired from the job. It appears that the public doesn't give a rats ass about a cop's life.
