Maybe Cuba will want to become a free country with democracy....or maybe there was too much rum in the punch last night. The worry would be if Russia wants to prop them up...but RU has finance problems now.

Raul is not Fidel. He doesn't have the same popular hold over the people as did Fidel. He can't command the communist bureaucracy the way Fidel did. And Russia certainly can't bail out the Cuban economy as did the Soviet Union. The only hope for Cuba is a popular revolt and the rise of a new "caudillo" (strong man). It is the only form of governance the Cubans understand and the one they will pine for with increasing vigor as Fidel's passing dims in time.
