Deadly gun attack at Iran military parade

Two points: (1) This is likely happening now because Iranians believe that America led by President Trump is more likely to stand with them, if only morally, whereas President Obama ignored them. And (2) Iran is going to find it difficult screwing with America as well as its neighbors in the Middle East with a popular uprising to cope with.
