It just goes to show that gun owners tend to do the right thing and follow the law. We don't need more gun laws, we need fewer that can be better enforced.

TSgt David L. - it is a crime to try to buy a gun if you cant own one. If you try you should be charged and prosecuted with that crime.

SSG (Join to see) - Exactly. And they successfully stopped 2 transactions with folks who chose not follow the law. They probably spent a couple of million dollars to that end.

TSgt David L. - They also were using the dark web where criminals go to do illegal things on the internet.

Quite a bit of effort, and I'm sure money, expended to make 2 purchases. Although a better success than Operation Fast and Furious, they could've used the resources better than an entrapment situation. Enforce the laws we have and leave honest gun owners alone. Maybe take care of cities like Chicago that actually need it.

Those two purchases happened over the dark web, too, not the regular internet. (I say that as if I know what I'm talking about. I wouldn't have a clue how to get on the dark web if my life depended on it.) Using the websites on the regular internet that most people use, they weren't able to complete any purchases at all.

SSgt Christopher Brose - I didn't catch that part. I don't really understand the whole deal either. I know there are a couple of IPs that folks use but as I'm not hiding terrorist activities or other nefarious crap I don't care. Obviously the ATF has someone that can do it...
